Join us for a day of artistic discovery at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This study day allows time for you to make the most of your visit to this world-class Museum. Be one of the first visitors to self-guide the newly opened Sargent & Paris, a new exhibition that explores the early career of American painter John Singer Sargent (1856–1925), from his arrival in Paris in 1874 to his infamous portrait Madame X that was a scandalous success at the Paris Salon.

Also on view is Caspar David Friedrich: The Soul of Nature, the first comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the artist held in the United States. The vision of the landscape that unfolds in his art—meditative, mysterious, and full of wonder—is still vital today.

We will also have a scheduled guided tour for our group on the theme of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painting. The expert guide will help us to discover how artists revolutionized painting in France during the second half of the nineteenth century.

Bus departs FloGris in Old Lyme, CT with one additional pick-up location in Madison, CT. Lunch is on your own.
